Areas CoolSculpting® Elite can treat

CoolSculpting® procedures are FDA-cleared to treat visible fat bulges in many parts of the body. Your provider will confirm which areas are appropriate for you, but commonly treated zones include:

• Abdomen and upper abdomen (“belly fat”)
• Flanks / love handles (“muffin top”)
• Inner and outer thighs
• Upper arms
• Bra fat and back fat
• Under the buttocks (banana roll)
• Under the chin and under the jawline (submental / submandibular)

Ideal CoolSculpting® Elite candidates

CoolSculpting® Elite is best for patients who are close to their goal weight and want to address specific, pinchable fat bulges that haven’t responded to diet and exercise.

• Have stubborn pockets of fat in FDA-cleared treatment areas
• Prefer a non-surgical option with little to no downtime
• Have realistic expectations and understand this is not a weight-loss solution
• Do not have certain rare conditions related to cold (your provider will screen for these)

What a CoolSculpting® Elite treatment is like

• Before: Your provider marks and maps the area, then applies a protective gel pad before placing the applicator.
• During: You’ll feel pulling, tugging and intense cold at first. As the area numbs, most patients relax, read, or scroll on their phone.
• After: The applicator is removed and the treated area is briefly massaged. You can typically return to normal activities right away.

Depending on your personalized plan, you may have multiple areas treated in one visit. Results are gradual and can continue to improve over several months as your body processes the treated fat cells.

Safety & important information

CoolSculpting® treatments are FDA-cleared for visible fat reduction in several body areas. However, CoolSculpting is not right for everyone. You should not have CoolSculpting® if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.

Common side effects can include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity in the treated area. These are typically mild to moderate and resolve gradually.
